Course description

Overview of interpretive approaches to sociology inquiry and corresponding qualitative methodological procedures. Theoretical coverage of the verstehen tradition, symbolic interactionism, ethnomethodology and conversation analysis. Methodological coverage of observational techniques, interviewing and focus groups, visual research, semiotics and textual analysis.
