Course description
Skills in quantitative data analysis are highly sought after by employers and extensively used by researchers in academia, government agencies, private companies and community organizations. This course teaches some of the most important quantitative data analysis techniques to enable students to undertake their own research at a professional standard and to assess the research of others. It is ideal for Masters and PhD students who are planning quantitative research theses, and for those whose employment requires evaluating or undertaking quantitative research. Topics covered include revision of descriptive and inferential statistics; bivariate linear regression; multiple linear regression; scaling and index construction, logistic regression; use of Stata statistical software for data analysis.
