This course explores a range of sociological perspectives on health communication. It is concerned with the analysis of inter-personal, group and mass communications about health and illness in different cultural, political and economic contexts of health care. It focuses attention upon the question of what makes for effective health communication among different categories of people, in different social, cultural, political and economic circumstances.
