Course description
NOT OFFERED 2010 This course draws on classic and contemporary sociological theories to examine the dimensions of change in urban and rural areas, both in Australia and internationally. Topics include the new economy of the city, world city formation, the growth of the suburbs, rural decline, the global countryside, counter-urbanisation and 'seachanging', and the emergence of private or gated communities.
