Course description

Not offered in 2013 The objectives of the course are to develop understanding of various approaches for discourse analysis; to evaluate different approaches in terms of their usefulness to language teaching & learning; to understand how a discourse perspective can enhance the teaching & learning of traditional areas of linguistic knowledge (pronunciation, grammar & vocabulary) & the teaching & learning of language processing skills (listening, reading, writing & speaking). This course may be cancelled if there are fewer than 20 enrolments.
