Course description
This course introduces students to the nature of research & why it is essential to our modern way of life. What are the current big questions in research? Who conducts research? What do they investigate & why? Key elements of good research design are also considered, & the concepts of intellectual property & commercialisation are introduced contextually by UQ research leaders. Students will have an opportunity to engage with the vibrant research culture at UQ, with a 10 hour laboratory placement in a research centre that reflects their interests.
