Course description

This course examines the interaction between two significant components of modern society: science and religion. The course first provides historical perspectives on these two ways of understanding the world. It explores noteworthy religion and science events, including as the trial of Galileo and early religious responses to the theory of evolution. After this, modern religion and science issues are explored, including creationism, questions about life in the universe, the Big Bang and belief in God, as well as contemporary atheism.
