Course description
This course is designed to enable students to implement knowledge and skills developed during specialist community mental health knowledge and skill courses. Students undertake 200 hours of community mental health practice. Activities appropriate for this course include service development, supervision of colleagues, community education, inter-agency collaboration, observation of the practice of more experienced mental health practitioners, participation in team meetings, individual or group supervision or other service activities. All practice hours are undertaken under an approved supervision arrangement and must include a minimum of 15 hours of face-to-face, video or telephone supervision. The full 200 hours or some proportion thereof may be undertaken in the student's own workplace, subject to access to appropriate practicum experience and suitable supervision arrangements.
