Course description
Description: This course is a broad introduction to international disease control priorities and other major health problems in development settings. It covers assessment of disease burden by cause, prevention, management and control of communicable and non-communicable diseases and other health problems. Aspects that are covered are, causes and control of: malaria, TB, HIV and AIDS, malnutrition, acute respiratory infection, diarrhoeal disease, vaccine preventable disease, water and sanitation and other environmental related health problems, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and other child and maternal health issues. This course may not be offered if the enrolment is less than 10 students.
