Course description
The course introduces the history and development of the conflict resolution field, theoretical underpinnings, and key approaches including distributive, integrative and transformative. Students will also gain an understanding of the qualities of constructive negotiators and important conflict resolution processes and skills as well as issues accompanying their application to deep-seated, international, intractable, or otherwise challenging conflicts. Learning in the course draws on scholarship, case studies, and simulations.
