Course description
NOT OFFERED IN 2010.
Examines the capacity to implement and maintain labour standards in industrialised and developing countries in the face of globalisation. Analyses the role of international organisations, and the utility of international conventions, voluntary codes of conduct and new forms of unionism in addressing labour rights. Specific issues covered include slavery and child labour, freedom of association and gender equity.
