Course description
This course is now POLS3202. This course examines the concept of foreign policy, analysing influences on the foreign policy making process and determining what constitutes a great power. It will study the rise and fall of great powers in history and the rivalry among great powers in the twentieth century, particularly during the Cold War and post-Cold War periods. Concepts discussed include power balancing, asymmetrical threats, and regional and international hegemony.
