4 x clinical cases; preceptor report, placement log, reflective journal, Students will be required to pass all assessment items to pass this course. Competency items in the preceptor report and placement log must be passed but students will have the opportunity to re-sit these items throughout the placement as required.

Course description
Paramedic Clinical Placement 1 provides students with their first opportunity to work with an ambulance paramedic service. Students will undertake four weeks full-time practical experience with the Queensland Ambulance Service or one of our other partner organisations. Students are given an opportunity to draw on the theoretical knowledge and practical skills learnt throughout the first year of the program and will participate in routine and emergency patient care and / or transportation. Students are expected to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of ambulance procedures, processes, documentation and have a functional knowledge of all ambulance equipment. Variations in exposure to patient volume and variety will be supplemented by simulated learning and practical teaching.
