Course description

This course will enable students to develop the knowledge, skills & attitudes required of the physiotherapist for the promotion of health & well-being in the workplace; for those with or at risk of chronic disease; across various community settings including inter-disciplinary teams; in those socially disadvantaged, or geographically isolated. The focus will be on the prevention & management of injury to our working population; management of those with chronic diseases & promotion of self-management; working in inter-disciplinary teams; health issues faced by our indigenous population & those in rural and remote Australia & the different models of health care service delivery. Students will have the opportunity to attend inter-professional workshops to see inter-disciplinary health care in practice.
