Course description

This course continues the examination of the aetiology of workplace induced illness and preventative measures designed to eliminate or minimise such illness. Students wil be introduced to aspects of work related dysfunction and illness in the sensory and nervous systems. Occupational stress and other mental health issues as related to the workplace will be discussed. Specific health issues related to particular groups of workers, (eg. women, ageing workers and workers with disabilities) or particular occupations or occupational groups (eg. agricultural workers, miners and health workers) will be reviewed. The role of research in advancing occupational health will be reviewed.
