Course description
This course provides the students with the opportunity to reflect upon specialist mental health nursing skills and how these are applied in any clinical setting where mental health issues are present. The focus is on expanding the skills included in NURS7013 and NURS7014 relevant to holistic care and practice in the clinical setting. Students will apply and build upon the theoretical concepts learned in the foundations of mental health nursing and mental health nursing practice in previous semesters. Other activities appropriate for this course include reflection on holistic mental health care and its provision across clinical and community settings, and how this is or could be improved - for example, through participation in team meetings or other clinical case discussions and record keeping.
