Course description

This course will assist students develop knowledge of the principles of self management of chronic illnesses and co-morbidities that make a major contribution to Australia's global burden of disease, such as diabetes, depression, asthma, arthritis and hypertension. Students will learn to assist clients with ongoing illness to develop, implement and evaluate self management strategies in collaboration with their primary health care provider and relevant health professionals. NOTE: This course may not be offered if the enrolment is less than 10 students.
