Course description
Students will be introduced to advanced concepts in biomechanics and motor control (neuromechanics). Issues concerning i) muscle and muscle architecture, ii) motion analysis, iii) reflex pathways and excitability and iv) motor learning will be covered in four modules. Content within the four modules will cover areas such as acute and chronic adaptations to training; collection and analysis of 2D and 3D human motion; neural adaptations to strength training and fatigue; and the neural control of inter-limb coordination. Lectures, laboratory sessions and prescribed readings will be used to facilitate learning within the course.
