Course description
This course will provide a thorough knowledge of the key theoretical and methodological principles of collections management and care in the museum profession. It will examine, through museum visits and hands -on learning, current practices and policies including: documentation and data management systems, art handling and packing, dealing with acquisitions, loans and disposal; as well as basic conservation skills and environmental monitoring, disaster and emergency planning, and seeking professional advice and managing ethical issues.
