Course description
MUSC3165 Conducting will feature elements pertaining to both choral and instrumental conducting. Students will be taught about the preparation, rehearsal, and performance stages of a conductor¿s work and be assessed in rehearsal and performance modes. Students will form an ensemble using the instrumentation/choral forces available within this cohort with specific repertoire being chosen on the basis of the instrumentation/vocal forces available within the cohort. Students will also be assessed in their knowledge of choosing suitable repertoire for a range of ensembles found in a typical high school, thus furthering their individual awareness of a conductor¿s preparation stage.
