Course description

This subject examines the business of advertising. It addresses the history, structure, workings, context and regulatory framework of the advertising industry in Australia and situates this in a global context. Students will gain knowledge of the kinds of work involved, various roles performed in agencies, and the different kinds of agencies. Guest speakers from industry give insights into the profession and talk about campaigns and what constitutes good advertising. Practical Workshops develop students¿ creative advertising skills, with an emphasis on creative concept development and advertising production. Students will create advertisements for different media, including radio.
