Module description
The Mine Ventilation Shorter Form Credential (SFC) module enables students to analyze the performance of key elements and develop design solutions for underground coal/
metalliferous mine ventilation systems. The focus of the course is on the following principal mining hazards: Air Quality, Airborne Dust and other Airborne
Contaminants, Fire and Explosion, Gas Outbursts, Spontaneous Combustion. Students are required to have a good understanding of fluid mechanics and basic concepts of underground mining methods, design philosophy and safety requirements.
