Course description
This course in the speciality field of advanced practice midwifery will assist midwives to develop a comprehensive knowledge of the use of pharmacology, pharmacy and therapeutic interventions required for the care of women and babies across the midwifery continuum. This knowledge will underpin critical analysis of the safety and professional accountability necessary in the use of pharmacological and non-pharmacological management plans for women and babies in their care. This course seeks to assist midwives working in advanced practice roles to develop their knowledge of the human sciences underpinning pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions.
