Course description
One of the key challenges faced by organisations in dealing with sustainability issues, is the development of management accounting systems and decision making structures that enable value oriented actions to be taken. This course looks at the range of accounting and reporting systems available to managers. For instance, the course outlines how managers can go about implementing carbon accounting and monitoring systems, how these fit within present sustainability reporting frameworks (like Triple Bottom Line) and introduces students to how an analysis of this data and information can create long term strategic policy and operational changes in organisations.
