Course description

This course provides students with an understanding of the organisation & management of health services, introducing key concepts of management theory, applying them to the health sector. The course examines the overall organisation of health services & the characteristics of the public & private sectors, a range of work places & professional groupings. It then explores the key roles & functions of management in the context of health services, addressing issues related to organising, staffing, leading, planning & controlling.
