This is a year long course. It commences in Semester 2, 2025 and completes in Semester 1, 2026.
Course description
*Year long course commencing Semester 2 for students who are 6 months out of sync.* The year-long Y4 Workplace Learning Portfolio (WLP) course is designed to support longitudinal progressive development of skills in the clinical environment. This is achieved through WLP tasks to be completed during all Year 4 courses. The WLP tasks comprise Mini-Clinical Evaluation Exercises (Mini-CEX), Direct Observation of Procedural Skills (DOPS) and Compulsory Observed Procedural Skills (COPS). Through Clinical Participation Assessments (CPAs), student development will also be monitored across the Domains of Professional and Clinical Practice; Professional Practice; Reflective Practice; and Social/Cultural competence and safety. Evidence of student development is aggregated in Blackboard and in the UQ MyProgress platform. Students are encouraged to plan their learning activities prior to the commencement of clinical placements and to actively engage in feedback processes to enable longitudinal clinical development. A mid-year review of the WLP will assist staff and students in identifying areas for improvement, and the strategies required to achieve this.
