Assessment methods
Mental Health Clinical Rotation: Observed Clinical Interview (30%); MCQ examination (30%); and Viva examination (40%); and Clinical Participation Assessment (CPA) is Pass/Fail. To pass the cou rse, students must achieve a PASS for the CPA regardless of other assessment marks. Honours: Honour s Project (25%) The honours assessment task/s, completed in the same semester as this clinical rotat ion, will comprise 25% of the overall mark for the course.

Course description
The Mental Health Rotation will be conducted in mainstream mental health services, such as community, public and private hospitals or fully integrated services. The clinical attachment sites provide a variety of experiences and access to the private sector and community-outreach services occurs in some sites. Learning in the clinical setting is central to the rotation, additional learning being through Clinical Case Review Discussions (similar to PBLs) and interactive workshops.
Students will be required to undertake an Honours Research Project (25%) and complete the Mental Health (pass stream) rotation concurrently. Students enrolled in the honours stream are provided with comprehensive assessment information which is outlined in the MBBS Honours Handbook.
