Course description

NOT 2009. This course is designed to introduce students from China and Australia to the salient features of the law governing the rights and obligations that arise in both legal systems when individuals and organisations make agreements or promises. The course will cover the sources of contract law and the principles relating to negotiating a contract; the formation of a contract: offer, acceptance, invitation to treat; validity of a contract; identifying contractual promises and implied terms; performance of a contract; assignment; termination; remedies for breach of contract; and processes employed for resolving contractual disputes.
