Course description
This course will consider the legal issues raised by the management and commercialisation of intellectual property rights, from the point of view of both producers and users of IP. The course begins by placing issues of IP commercialisation and management in the broader context of industry structures and regulation. It then turns to focus on issues relating to patents and confidential information. A candidate who has successfully completed the course should therefore have acquired the skills to think about commercialisation as part of a wider matrix of general legal and industry specific rules and have acquired particular insight into the operation of technology licensing agreements.
