Course description
Practice in reading, translation and simple composition based on graded series of up-to-date samples of modern Korean from a variety of sources. Students will also be given opportunities to further practice simple letter-writing, and filling in various documents. In addition this will further improve students¿ understanding of Korean sentence structure and grammar, and enhance their ability to translate between the two languages (Korean/English). The course broadens the learners' knowledge of common vocabulary and modern Korean grammar, consolidates reading and character recognition strategies in learners, provides further training in dictionary use, and extends writing practice from simple to more complex narrative forms and practical genres such as letter writing. Learners gain practice in the use of a wide range of expressions and increasingly complex grammatical structures. Materials are drawn from textbooks, authentic print, and Internet sources.
