Course description
This course will further develop students¿ awareness and deeper understanding/appreciation of the importance of the Japanese cultural context, societal norms and rules. It will expand students¿ cultural awareness, respect and sensitivity through analysing the context in which different levels of politeness appear in relationships between the interlocutors. The course will enable students to effectively communicate by employing appropriate and polite Japanese expressions in both speaking and writing. This is an upper advanced level course, for students who have completed JAPN3102 or equivalent.
