Course description

Students will be introduced to advanced concepts in biomechanics and motor control. Issues concerning the motor system and its adaptability to training, detraining, exercise and disease will be addressed. Focus will be placed on research issues centred around the neuromechanical basis of strength training, balance control, principles of normal and pathological gait and the neural control of inter-limb coordination. Lectures and laboratory sessions along with group discussions on historical and current research articles will be used to facilitate learning within the area.
