Course description

This course provides skills in research design for students undertaking Honours in Arts and Culture or related disciplines. The course is taught as a combination of 5 weeks of research design, and 5 weeks of thematic/discipline streams (Part 2) where students choose the area (art history, communications, drama, film & television, journalism, literature, media & digital cultures, music) most relevant to their thesis research. Topics include seminars on how to design a research project, becoming a researcher, writing a literature review, research management, and research dissemination. The course concludes with a 2 week symposium where students present their project to their peers, lecturers, and industry experts. Students also have access to a range of online modules on research skills.
