Course description

Students will apply their research skills to evaluate the role of exercise in prevention/pre-treatment, during treatment, survivorship and palliation (where appropriate) for a range of chronic and/or complex diseases. This evidence-based approach will then be utilised by students when prescribing and programming exercise for older adults, the obese, diabetics and individuals with cancer. Supervised clinical experience with older adults and men with prostate cancer will be required. This course had the previous code of HMST4741 which can be viewed in the archived area within the Course and Program site http://www.uq.edu.au/study/archive/index.html
