Course description
Origin and abundance of the elements in the Solar System; major elements, trace elements, and isotopic systems of relevance in geosciences. High-temperature geochemistry applied to the origin and differentiation of magmas. Low-temperature and environmental geochemistry and chemistry of aqueous solutions; surface water and groundwater geochemistry, and water-rock interactions. Stable isotopes, oxygen and hydrogen isotopic fractionation in the hydrosphere; carbon and sulfur isotope systematics; radiogenic isotopes; weathering; geochemistry and global change.
