Course description
(Offered in semester 2 in even years only) Origin and abundance of the elements; Major element, trace element, and isotopic differentiation of the solar system and the Earth; principles of inorganic geochemistry including introduction to thermodynamics; analytical techniques for elemental and isotopic measurement; radiogenic and stable isotope systematics; use of elemental and isotopic data to study magmatic and metamorphic processes, crustal evolution, formation of ore deposits, geochemical cycles, weathering, and groundwater.
