Course description
This course covers the formation and analysis of sedimentary basins, which are the primary host of many economic and energy resources. This course will move beyond basic sedimentology and cover topics such as basin formation, facies analysis and depositional systems, logging and correlation of borehole/core materials, and assessment of energy resources such as coal and petroleum. Planned activities include two afternoon field trips to locations around Brisbane, and a 5-day field trip during the mid-semester break.
