Course description
This course reviews the rationale, principles, practices and emerging trends in the field of sustainability accounting and reporting. The course includes: a review of the historical development of sustainability accounting and reporting; an introduction to the principles of the triple bottom line; an overview of major international sustainability reporting standardisation initiatives (e.g. GRI, AA1000, Sigma project, ISO26000); a review of greenhouse gas emissions accounting and management reporting and; a consideration of certification as a form of sustainability reporting.
