Course description
This course features plays, poems and prose works from one of the most creatively energetic periods in the history of English literature - the age of such major figures as Shakespeare, Marlowe, Donne, Jonson, Herbert, Marvell, and Milton. Students will have the opportunity to consider how a variety of literary works negotiated new worlds in a time of immense and sometimes violent social, politcal, economic, and religious change. NOTE: Course offering may be cancelled unless a minimum of 20 students enrol.
