Course description
This course introduces students to some of the best contemporary writing in English, from a range of different cultures. The course complements the focus on classic literature on offer in ENGL1800. Genres include novels, poetry, and graphic novels. Authors studied may include J.M. Coetzee, Ian McEwan, Simon Armitage, Yann Martel, and others. In addition to a grounding in contemporary literature, this course introduces students to critical and creative reading and writing skills.
