Course description

This course takes an issues-based approach and examines the nature of science education at a personal level in the classroom and at a state, national and international level. The course will take the form of a series of fortnightly seminars on key issues in science education (virtual and face-to-face). These issues will be used to frame the assignments for the course which will be negotiated and developed with the course co-ordinator. The first assignment will involve working through one of the issues examining how it affects our teaching and based on science education research and good practice. The second will involve the design of an action-research project based on an issue.
