Course description
Contact times for internally enrolled students will be arranged at the commencement of semester, via Blackboard or email. Examines the broad field of qualitative research in education, including consideration of the ethical commitments and theoretical perspectives that underlie the qualitative paradigm. Students will explore published research papers as they learn to critically 'read' reports of research, and will gain familiarity with key qualitative methodologies including case study, narrative, phenomenology and ethnography. A particular focus of the course will be on developing the skills required for compelling research writing in education. This course may not be offered if the enrolment is less than 10 students.
