Course description
This course introduces students to theories and practices of learning and teaching mathematics in the secondary school, and develops practical skills motivating students, developing learning activities, lesson planning and presentation, curriculum and assessment in the context of the Australian Curriculum: Mathematics (Years 7-10). Students will be encouraged to develop their identities as beginning teachers whose responsibilities extend well beyond the classroom and the school to include interaction with other professionals, students, families, and the community surrounding the school.
