Course description

This course offers students the opportunity to undertake an internship with a professional theatre company, or complete a major independent research project. For those interested in secondments (internships), these take place in the last year of your undergraduate study. Students may be placed at QTC, La Boite, the Queensland Shakespeare Ensemble, or a theatre company of their own choosing. Individual research topics are available to advanced students with good records, and typically results in a research essay of approx. 5,000 words. Topics are decided in consultation with a staff member whose expertise aligns with your independent research area. If you have a burning interest in a particular playwright, theatre company, or area of theatre-related scholarship or critical theory, this is your opportunity to develop a research project that enables you to work independently toward a detailed area of knowledge.
