Course description
(Not offered 2007)Design with simulation & synthesis in VHDL environment. Design for testability. Issues in mixed analog-digital design & high speed digital design. Technology issues in implementation of digital systems in VLSI, Application Specific Integrated Circuits & Field Programmable Gate Arrays. Design methodology & emerging technologies outlook. The practical part of the course is focused on solving design problems and use of industrial electronic design tools for VLSI design (Mentor Graphics) and for FPGA design (Synopsys or XILINX ISE).
