Course description
THIS COURSE HAS BEEN REPLACED BY CRIM2011.
This course examines a range of issues related to victims of crime. The roles and characteristics of crime victims, victim interaction with the criminal justice system, the impact of criminal victimisation, the use of victimisation data, and particular categories of victimisation are covered. Programs aimed at alleviating and recognizing victims suffering will be analysed. e.g., restorative justice, victim and offender mediation, government institutions, and the role of support initiatives.
