Course description
This course will apply the counselling process to working with children, young people and families. It will increase the knowledge of participants with respect to child and young person development and disorders and effects of context on child development. It will consider the care and protection of children where there is a risk of, or evidence of, abuse. The course will also consider care of families and forms of intervention with families from different theoretical perspectives. It will also encourage participants to apply knowledge of children in innovative and creative child friendly ways.
