one work based assessment (formative); one presentation & one case report or one major project; one practicum report; 50 hours of supervised client contact and 50 hours of related agency activities. Please note that Supplementary Assessment is not available for this course.

Course description

Students will gain more in-depth supervised practice experience in an agency setting - government and non-government. In the practicum students will have the opportunity to apply counselling theory and knowledge and skills-based training in live counselling sessions. To pass this course, students must demonstrate competency in interviewing clients around a range of presenting issues and show critical reflection on their knowledge, skills, and attitudes to clients and self. Students are required to contact the School's Field Education Unit by no later than April of the same year for placement to be organised for semester 2.
