Assessment methods
During the semester, students will be requested to solve two assignments that will focus on the esti mation of travel behaviour models focusing on a variety of problems observed in the transportation e ngineering realm. During the end-of-semester exams, students will be requested to complete a final e xam that will test their theoretical knowledge as well as their ability to interpret travel behaviou r models.

Course description
CIVL6412 addresses the need for students interested in transport to receive a theoretical and practical overview of demand modelling that is based on the application of behavioural theories to the study of mobility. The models that are described in the course are of interest to researchers and consultants alike working all over the world work on planning for sustainable and safe transport at the metropolitan, regional and national level. The course provides not only the most novel knowledge about different statistical and econometric models for modelling travel behaviour and transport phenomena, but also about theoretical and conceptual understanding of behavioural theories underpinning the models (e.g., random utility, random regret, elimination by aspects, prospect theory) as well as practical estimation of models with statistical software.
