Course description
This course introduces students to advanced topics in transport engineering. The course includes modules which emphasise the transport planning process, travel demand forecasting and traffic impact assessment. Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of strategic four step transport models, which will be used to demonstrate a range of analytical techniques commonly applied in the transport engineering field. Students will also be introduced to the traffic impact assessment process, including coverage of topics on data sources, traffic forecasting and impact mitigation.
